To: All SCMS Stakeholders
We are now living The Leader in Me’s, 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens. To practice what we teach, my weekly correspondence follows the 7 Habits theme: Habit 1 – Students can BE PROACTIVE by turning in all assignments. Third quarter report cards are scheduled to come home today, Thursday, March 24. A very useful tool for parents is the Infinite Campus App; where you can check grades and receive push notifications daily. Habit 2 – Congratulations to our current A.R. leaders who BEGIN WITH THE END IN MIND: 5th place – Abby Watts, 4th place – Cameron Emmons, 3rd place – Dawson Sheble, 2nd place – Erika Montgomery, 1st place – Emily McGill. Habit 3 – Next week we PUT FIRST THINGS FIRST during ‘Career Week’ at SCMS. Leaders from our community and Louisville will speak to students making real world connections to the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Our 8th graders will be visiting Campbellsville University and all students will participate in the Virtual Reality Store in our gymnasium. Habit 4 – Two students were THINKING WIN-WIN, Brandt Muddell and Valerie Pucko represented SCMS at the states capitol as “Page’s for the Day” with Representative Higdon. Habit 5 – Ms. Leff and GBB will be SEEKING FIRST TO UNDERSTAND, THEN TO BE UNDERSTOOD by hosting a “Raising Drug Free Kids” town hall meeting today, March 24 at 6:30 in the SCMS Auditorium. Flyer attached. Habit 6 – We will be SYNERGIZING with SCHS Principal Mr. Haun on April 28th to discuss scheduling with all 8th graders. SCHS representatives will be following up the next week to answer questions and gather information. For more info. Contact [email protected].
