The 2nd quarter mid-term reports ends this thursday, November 15th and will be sent home on November 27th. Last night they defeated St. Joe's MS. Come out and support the boys at our next home game which will be on Nov. 26th vs Marion County. Kudos to our Dance and Cheer squad's as they finished 1st and 2nd place respectively in statewide competitions last weekend! Volleyball Tryouts today and conclude 15th, Archery Tryouts are tomorrow 3:45-5 in the gym, Momo Challenge - Parents please watch this news piece on a new app that has been brought to our attention called momo. Supposedly, the app asks questions and at some point asks for the user to harm themselves. There's been at least three reported suicide attempts. All grade levels are reading the novel The Miscalculations of Lightning Girl by Stacy McAnulty during their 5th period class. The story is about Lucy Callahan who was struck by lightning and the zap gave her genius level math skills. At age 12 she was technically ready for college but Lucy's grandma wants her to go to middle school and survive for one year. Can Lucy learn to adapt to life in middle school with her superpower brain? Classes will be reading this novel together through the month of December. We will also have a visit from the author! Make sure you ask your student questions over the next seven weeks about Lucy and her exciting adventures in middle school! Last night they defeated Burnheim MS in the first home game of the season. Come out and support the boys at home on Tuesday and Thursday of next week. Good luck to our dance team tomorrow in their competition in Lexington and good luck cheer squad in Carroll County on Sunday! Thanks to everyone who attended our Fall Band Concert Monday, Oct. 29th. Come out and watch a performance in the school auditorium, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory produced by the SCMS Drama Dept. on: Nov. 1 (7pm), 2(7pm), 3(2&7pm), & 4th(2pm). We recognized all our students that performed well on the last Spring's state assessment. All students attended and had tons of fun as we turned our gymnasium into a BMX track for professional BMX stuntmen.
