"Roughest waters make the best sailors." Thanks to all our parents, teachers, drivers, instructional support, & EVERYONE! It's been all hands on deck and we'll come out of this closer and better than ever. Feeding children, educating them the best we can given the circumstances, and keeping everyone as safe as possible are our priorities.

We are in the process of delivering food and academic packets to 3000 Spencer County students as we speak. If you do not receive your packet today, you SHOULD receive that tomorrow as more copies are being made and logistics are being worked out. Packets are available at the SCMS main office each day from 7am to 3pm. If you do not receive a packet and you are unable to pick up a packet, please email me your address and a good time for drop off at [email protected]. I'm also attaching an electronic copy to this correspondence for your convenience. All teachers are available by email if assistance is needed in anyway. Again, thanks to everyone for your patience and understanding as we work diligently to take care of our kiddos.
Grade 6 NTI Week 1 Packet Grade 7 NTI Week 1 Packet Grade 8 NTI Week 1 Packet MM As I explained in my earlier correspondence, everyone will receive a weekly grade level assignment packet with lunch deliveries tomorrow. For those that have access to a computer and printer I am attaching an electronic version of these NTI packets for your convenience. Each packet has related arts assignments and there has been no schedule changes at this point and will not be until further notice. So students are to complete their current schedules courses. As always, thank you for your patience and cooperation.
Grade 6 NTI Week 1 Packet Grade 7 NTI Week 1 Packet Grade 8 NTI Week 1 Packet MM Dear Grizzly Family, Scary times, but together we will be there for each other and we will be resilient in getting past this. It's going to be okay. As Superintendent Adams explained Friday in his letter to all stakeholders, we are taking every precaution possible to keep everyone safe and healthy during this unprecedented time. We are utilizing 9 non-traditional school days (NTI). What that means is that we are doing our best to continue instruction, albeit remotely. Although nothing can replace teacher-student interaction, this is simply the most responsible move as recommended by our governor. Our administration met with all faculty and staff on Friday to roll out our plan. Teacher's are working as we speak on grade level student packets to send to each home. Those will be completed today. Each day lunch will be delivered to all students and our plan is to deliver all "Week 1" packets tomorrow with lunch. These packets will be returned one week from today on Monday, March 23, with lunches and you will then receive your "Week 2" packet. Lunches and packets will be brought to your door, however if no one is home, food and packets WILL NOT be left. In this situation or if you live outside the Spencer County school district you WILL need to make arrangements to pick up your packets in the main office here at SCMS any day between 7am and 3pm. Any questions and/or concerns please feel free to email me at [email protected]. I want to personally thank our bus drivers, support staff, school nurses, family resource, etc. for their selfless work during this time. Our top priority is the health and safety of all our people, especially students. Please practice social distancing and if possible, stay in and by all means stay safe. MM |
